Vincent Paul Ingolia was sentenced after posting an advertisement on Craigslist seeking a young girl for sexual activity. In emails, Ingolia offered to pay the minor in exchange for sexual contact and made numerous statements intended to entice and persuade the minor into meeting and having sex with him. Ingolia went to a gas station to meet the girl but then sent an email saying he thought he was speaking to an officer and fled the scene.
After an investigation to identify him, agents discovered Ingolia had posted at least ten other Craigslist advertisements seeking young girls for "porn productions," or to pay for sex. Agents tracked him down to his home in Meridian where he admitted to all of the information above. The investigation was part of "Operation Unsportsmanlike Conduct," a joint state and federal undercover operation conducted in Ada County to find individuals predisposed to meet minors for sexual contact.
