In most cases, patients will have a consultation with an oncologist within 48 hours. Community MD Anderson Cancer Center - South features 65, square feet of space dedicated to cancer care, including state-of-the-art imaging technology, oncology pharmacy, lab, infusion rooms, and healing spaces inside and out. The new space will accommodate more oncology specialists and services, including increased Phase I research trials as well as a genetic counseling and genomics program. Patients are supported by a team that includes nurse practitioners, oncology nurses, patient navigators, social worker, dietitians, financial counselors, pharmacists, palliative care and more. Community MD Anderson Physicians. At your first appointment, you'll meet an oncology navigator who introduces you to the medical oncologist and radiation oncologist.
