Ebony Finau uses the Instagam handle, Twice is Nice, to sell clothes she gets from Honiara's second hand shops. Every Sunday she posts items on her feed with the first person to comment "sold", securing the item. Ebony graduated from university two years ago but has not been able to find work, so her thrift business helps to make ends meet at home. I'm the only girl, my dad just passed away last year, so we are living with our mum but she's now sick and then she got retired from her job so now it's just me," she said.
She is now using her skills to help those selling clothes online, by using models to set up photo shoots for their products. Chamber of Commerce CEO Natalina Hong said she's happy to see the growth of thrifting and is encouraging these businesses to enter the formal sector by becoming members.
