Marvin Ducksch struck twice to give Werder Bremen a win at northern neighbours Hamburg on Sunday as the visitors claimed both Nordderby glory and top-spot. Hamburg Werder Bremen Goals: Ducksch pen. And Werder , who started the weekend top but had moved to third by kick-off on Sunday afternoon, made the first move just 10 minutes in. Hamburg thought they were level eight minutes later but Moritz Heyer's controlled volley was chalked off for Robert Glatzel's push before the ball fell to his teammate.
In need of a turnaround after the break, HSV wasted no time pulling level in the second half. They needed just two minutes for Meffert to make up for his earlier handball, collecting Glatzel's deflected shot just six yards from goal and prodding home as the offside flag stayed down.
The home side's joy didn't last long, though, with Bremen awarded a second VAR-consulted penalty of the day as a result of errant Hamburg hands in the box.
Ducksch then found the bottom corner from the edge of the box, but Glatzel kept the game on a knife edge with a close range finish with 10 minutes to play. It set up a grandstand finish and Hamburg had the ball in the back of the net in the 95th minute but their dramatic-looking equaliser was chalked off for offside as Werder eventually held on to claim both derby spoils and first place.
Aue were denied a first win since Matchday 14 as Paderborn clinched a dramatic draw in Friday's six-goal thriller. The hosts had taken a first half lead thanks to Dennis Srbeny's close-range header before Erzgebirge roared into life after the break. Dmitri Nazarov tucked home from the penalty spot on 63 minutes and, within two minutes of their equaliser, the visitors were in front as Ben Zolinski rifled home against his former club.
