A Norfolk man was sentenced Friday to 20 years and six months in prison for the murder of his girlfriend and for keeping her body in his apartment for two days before turning himself in. Dustin James Wilder called from a 7-Eleven just after midnight on Oct. Wilder, 40, told police he and Johnson would often do drugs together and had previously had fights, and said she had been at his apartment doing drugs before he found her dead.
He only realized what happened after he awoke and she was in the same spot. Police said he had open wounds on his knuckles on both hands. Johnson had 50 fractures to her ribcage, which were determined to have occurred at the time of her death, along with blunt force trauma to her head and neck indicating strangulation, according to the prosecution.
Johnson suffered a terrible death at Mr. Wilder will serve a sentence that fits his crime. I hope that the verdict and sentence offer some closure to Mrs.
