The victim of a motel robbery claims that she was set up after meeting with someone concerning a Craigslist ad for prostitution. According to the Norcross Police report, an officer met with the victim around 5 a. The victim told the officer that she had responded to an advertisement on Craigslist that day regarding sex work.
She contacted a person named Ryan about getting a room and screening clients for her. A knock was at the door not too long after, and thinking it was Ryan, the victim opened it. Two men barged into the room, she told police. One of the men pushed her against the wall, and the other pointed a gun in her face and demanded money.
They searched the rest of the room for cash, and then struck the victim in her left eye, causing a laceration. For some reason one of the men then asked the other to give him a pillow, and then they left. In the parking lot, police stopped a red Mitsubishi with a male and a female. The victim didn't recognize the man, but she identified the female as Ryan.
It turned out Ryan wasn't her real name. Both people in the car were placed under investigative detention, and all subjects were transported to the Norcross Police Department for questioning. The report does not say if any of the subjects were arrested. According to the victim, the robbery suspects were two black men, one light-skinned and the other dark-skinned. The man with the lighter skin had a handgun and wore a black hooded sweatshirt. The darker man wore a maroon hoodie. Inside Police Reports runs regularly every week.
