The latest update of South Gloucestershires Local Plan has detailed the construction of 22, new homes to be built between and The council has pinpointed 90 locations for approximately 12, dwellings that either lack current planning permission or weren't included in earlier editions of the area's development strategy.
A significant proportion, just over half, is designated for the North and East Fringe's "urban edge" on Bristol's outskirts, which encompasses present greenbelt territory.
The remaining allotment is distributed among various towns and villages. Additional segments outlined in the Local Plan cover more than 7, homes already in progress, such as the expansive Brabazon neighbourhood emerging on the erstwhile Filton Airfield, along with nearly 3, residences anticipated from individual planning proposals for less than ten units spanning the next decade and a half.
This decision will be followed by a full council vote later in the month and subsequently, a six-week period allocated for public input. Feedback from this consultation phase will be forwarded alongside the documentation for the examination by planning inspectors scheduled for the following year.
