The store is closed. I have finished my duties, changed into my regular clothes, and am walking through the dark and empty store towards the exit. This is why I am very surprised to be approached by a customer. No employees anywhere! I was scouted to work at a certain company. The company was large and well established. Booksellers had to call for coverage for anything that would take them more than a few steps away. It was a pain. I was okay for a while, and then I had to make an unplanned and hasty rush to the bathroom without any time to call for coverage. I came back to find three customers, the manager on duty, and the District Manager at the kiosk. Neither of the managers was helping anyone; they were glaring at me. Can I help the next customer? Oddly, none of the customers needed my help after all.
