Sports play an integral role at Wellington. We provide an inclusive and nurturing environment that inspires pupils to be resilient and independent learners and to cultivate a lifelong passion for physical activity. Throughout the academic year, our pupils have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sporting activities, both at home and abroad, competing against leading international and bilingual schools.
Our five core sports — football, basketball, volleyball, swimming and tennis — receive extra provision and resources, with teams competing at the local, regional and international levels. We also offer three developing core sports — netball, rugby contact, touch, and tag , and badminton. Additionally, our pupils can participate in supplementary sports, such as table tennis, ultimate frisbee, skiing, figure skating and equestrian.
The Wellington Shanghai campus offers world-class facilities, including three a-side football pitches, three basketball courts, three volleyball courts, up to seven netball and tennis courts, a meter and a meter pool, and a meter athletics track. We provide opportunities for additional small-group training through our Wellington Extra programme.
