I turned up the heat all of the way and when I opened the oven the sleeve was in the sauce pan while the cylinder was still sitting on the rim of the pan. The sleeves are cast into the block but they are still smooth and can be removed. Just makes the whole thing easier. Location : Perigueux Aquitaine France. Last edited by vfg24; at PM. Might be better repairing your cylinder or getting another case. Yes, very different, indeed! On the VF, the sleeves are secured with 4 bolts at the top while they seem casted in the block on the V In this case, an other block is the way to go! Founding Member I would be afraid of busting the block where the sleeve sits since the water jacket is around it.
The VF uses the block with separate wet liners. The other 's and 's have the liners cast in, and they are not considered removable. But if you can find some oversize pistons, you could bore them oversize. Originally Posted by jaliv. Sponsor, Moderator. Location : Brampton, Ontaxio, Canada. Originally Posted by Spotty. Like this?? Pirates that used an 'X' to mark the spot were stupid - if they had used a 'G' nobody would have ever found it!!! They say married men live longer - I think it just feels like that!!! Well I took MagAndy's advice and bought the case. Hopefully it will work for what I need. Here's the full story: I bought the bike from Fargo but the number 3 cylinder is blown and the sleeve is deeply scored so far everything else looks good- but I really haven't torn it down yet.
