I didn't really want to go down the lady of the night route - and I'm pretty awful at DIY - bend one, lose one, fit one was always my motto; that doesn't matter with wood screws or whatever; but the prostate is a different matter. The NHS does not seem to cater for it and private appointments are too expensive for that on a regular basis.
Me, I refused to self cath when urology nurse suggested it before my GL far less prostate massage. Some unlike Connolly describe it as pleasurable. Other than that I did it myself using a crystal wand device and I got my wife to do it for a while although I had to be really nice to her. It helped a little bit for chronic prostatitis but in the end it was not all that helpful. We want the community to be a useful resource for our users but it is important to remember that the community are not moderated or reviewed by doctors and so you should not rely on opinions or advice given by other users in respect of any healthcare matters.
