Two people suspected of working as a pimp and a prostitute are in the Wichita County Jail tonight following a traffic stop. It was that traffic stop, driving in the left lane not passing anyone, on Wednesday along Highway that opened up an investigation that according to DPS troopers, dates back to April of last year, when investigators had spoken with a young woman in Beaumont who said she had started working for Collins as a prostitute when she was 16 years old.
This latest arrest affidavit outlines the events of March 25 th , when year-old Robert E. DPS troopers searched the couple's vehicle and uncovered multiple maps, hotel coupon books and multiple coin purses containing condoms. Further investigation led authorities to check Collins' phone number, which led to a commercial sex trade website, and McCoy's phone number was found on an escort services website.
Authorities also collected more evidence after listening to recorded jail house conversations by Collins. Collins is charged with Trafficking Persons, Promotion of Prostitution, and two other charges.
