How best to find a room for rent? I only just arrived in town and just need a single room with roommate s , and the queries I've sent from ads I have seen have only come back with silence. So I recently returned to Denver to help my aging mother and be closer to family. I moved without having a place to live lined up, because I did not want to get a solo place, and I wanted to meet any roommates in person to check out the vibe, as it were.
I am currently staying with my brother, but I do not want to further impose on him, and I want to get settled into my own space asap. I want to start with a month to month situation. I'm a 48 year old woman and I am chill and easygoing. Also I am fully vaccinated. I will start my job search as soon as I have a place to live.
I was checking Craigslist, and there are quite a few ads that looked suitable, and I sent out a query to multiple people, and got no response. I don't know if that's just general Craigslist flakiness or what. I've looked at other sites but they seem kind of sketchy with all the information they want on me just to browse listings, and just not the type of thing I am looking for.
I have used apartment finder services in the past, but they had deals with the various complexes for finder's fees, and that is all they dealt with. Is there a type of service that could connect me with a place to rent in a house?
I'm just not sure how to proceed here. If my only hope is continuing to respond to Craigslist ads, then I'll go with that until I can get something to happen I suppose.
