Something I've always wondered Back on the day, how much did people know about what waited at the end? Nowadays, we know almost everything before it's even released, but back then Another fun bit of trivia: both instances are farmed for their trash drops which contain rare vanilla sets.
Ruins in particular is the best source for Glorious Legplates. There was definitely little to no information prior to a release from memory. When a new raid was released there were strategy's online by those who had encountered the bosses but nothing to the level of today i. C'thun was always exciting despite the high wipe level just because his loot table was so coveted. Even going into Naxx and clearing a number of bosses weekly, our guild never considered AQ40 and particularly C'thun on farm just because how difficult he was.
You mean how buggy he was? Haha, good joke. We ran as a raid syndicate on our server - several smaller RP guilds co-operating to form a raid group. I am not looking forward to classic servers.
There are so many things that made vanilla great dungeon and raid loot was difficult to obtain and you stood apart from other players, more options for talent customisation, end game professions were rewarding both in gear and money but there are so many better elements that exist today. Plus being more casual these days compared to end game raiding in vanilla, I actually rely and enjoy the LFR system so I can experience end game.
LFR is fine. The vast majority of runs I undertake in it are very smooth, one-shot affairs. If there's a mouthy idiot in the group add them to your ignore list and you'll never encounter them again. It also has the major advantage over pugging in that you're guaranteed a slot. I realise this makes some people mad because they can't police the in-game activities of others, but they need to get over that.
