Owner and Executive Director Robin Casey says when people think of drug rehab, they often think of hospitals and jails. But, he says treatment at Fire Sky Recovery looks different. The ranch, just west of Lubbock on the Levelland Highway, has space for 19 residential beds, an indoor and outdoor kitchen, meeting spaces, patios, an indoor pool, hot tub and gym. We want this to be a little bit more comfortable and it works.
Casey started the company in , working with sober living facilities and outpatient facilities in the Metroplex. Then in , he opened Fire Sky Ranch near Abernathy. Two years ago, he moved the facility just outside Lubbock.
Casey, who is also a licensed professional counselor supervisor, says Fire Sky Recovery is the only locally-owned residential treatment center in Lubbock. It provides outpatient care, day treatment, residential treatment and operates a sober living facility as a step-down program in town.
Casey says men have been raised to be strong and keep their feelings to themselves. Program alumni also host meetings at the ranch once a week, helping create support for those in recovery. He hopes anyone who sees this and needs help will reach out. The recovery center does not receive funding from the state and is a private pay, insurance-based program. Casey says they are in network with most major providers.
