Matthew is a welcome addition to the Bergamont team with nearly a decade of experience as a licensed massage therapist. He was trained locally by some of the wonderful therapists right here in Madison, WI at Globe University. Matthew specializes in firmer pressure and deep tissue massage. He would describe his style as targeted therapeutic work. He has spent the majority of his career working with individuals with conditions that cause chronic pain. In his free time Matthew enjoys reading, playing video, games, and doing cosplay.
He is a self proclaimed nerd and enjoys anything and everything fantasy related. Her massage style can be described as mainly Swedish with medium pressure, but can add therapeutic techniques to areas that need more attention. She is excited to grow as a massage therapist and further her education.
Karter joined Bergamot with eight and a half years of massage experience gained in their Wyoming hometown. Karter graduated with their massage therapy degree from, and later taught in, the Sheridan College massage therapy program. And is now working toward a MS in counseling from Marquette University.
They are accustomed to working deeper and utilizing neuromuscular techniques along with cupping, gua sha, stretching, and Swedish techniques to aid clients in restoring range of motion and reducing pain. They enjoy working with clients in a manner that appropriately addresses the clients concerns and, at times, fear of firmer pressure. Julie received her associate of applied science in massage therapy at Globe University in Madison. She is also certified in Reiki and has taken extensive classes in psychology trying to obtain a bachelors in psychology right before the pandemic; so she is very knowledge in that field.
She describes her style as relaxing and flowing. She is knowledgeable in Gua Sha and Reiki. Her favorite outcome is leaving clients feeling relaxed and having met their needs. During her free time she likes hiking, walking around downtown Madison, traveling, hanging with her kids, or cooking. Working at Bergamot has allowed her to meet new and exciting people.
