However, event personnel plays a crucial role in staging a successful event, providing meaningful experiences for attendants and delivering superior service quality. Thus, human resource management in the events context requires careful consideration; nonetheless the academic discourse on this topic is still limited.
This essay thus provides an overview of the requirements and arrangements that are specific to the events industry and further applies concepts and theories from human resource management literature and research from other service industries. An emphasis is placed on motivation, commitment and appropriate leadership styles so as to align and inspire the diverse event workforce to realize the common goal of delivering a successful, safe and memorable event.
