Napoleon Bonaparte. It would later become the refuge of a lonely, but not solitary Josephine: the empress received many prestigious guests here, as well as her grandchildren. Between intimacy and grandeur, Malmaison makes no choice. With Loc'Hall, receive in the manner of Empress Josephine! Private tours, organized outside of the museum's opening hours, can be arranged throughout the year.
Cross the RN13 and come back to the crossroads. By road : RN 13 12 km from Paris. Quotation on request. Good museum about Napoleon 1 and particularly about his exile to Elba. Beautiful park as well! The history of the chateau is interesting and the place itself is unbelievably beautiful and atmospheric.
It feels like you are walking around the building that is still inhabited. The interior, the exterior and the surrounding area are stunning. I really recommend visiting this place for those who prefer such attractions that dive you into the ambiance fully and feel cozy to some huge sights like Chateau de Versailles, which I personally did not find as interesting to investigate.
Also, this sight is not really popular and I didn't spend a minute to wait for the entry and the inside space didn't have many people inside, so everybody could completely enjoy the experience without a huge crowd like it happens on many other attractions.
Loved it. Very informative and great value. Also beautiful gardens and park. Loved it! You might espect much bigger castle, as it was the home of Napoleon and Josephine for some time, but the exibition contains such authentic pieces from their life that is really worth of visit. Employees were really kind and helpful. A great museum to visit whilst in Paris, the once home of Napoleon and Josephine contains lots of original and authentic paintings and artefacts including lots of Napoleon's belongings including his bed, clothes, champagne flute, lock of his hair, his carriage and desks he used throughout his rule Also lots of Josephine's belongings to see here including the bed she took her last breath in Definitely worth a visit.
