The job market is still favorable for applicants, and many found themselves juggling 20 or more interviews over the three and one-half days. The Employment Center has changed from a regimented program to a more relaxed, informal meeting place for anyone at the Joint Meetings who has a role in the job market.
Participants find that they can spend as much or as little time there as they choose. The Employment Center works best as a meeting place for those who've already been actively seeking employment, and would like to connect with a number of employers, where there is mutual interest. Communications on site have been improved by an easy to use message center. The AMS staff is always happy to answer questions and help out with problems. The area was bustling with activity and served as a central point where colleagues shopped, networked, and renewed friendships.
