All of these experiences have contributed to shaping my vision of the human being and his or her development and have permitted me to improve my therapeutic approach.
I use several theoretical and technical orientations to offer the best service to people who consult me and wish to improve their quality of life. Amongst others, I use a cognitive-behavioural approach that favors modification of behaviour and thought. I also advocate an existential-humanistic approach that takes into account the assets and the required resources a person has to fulfill his or her life.
I then help clients to acknowledge and understand their difficulties in a way that brings about change to the way they think and behave. I continue to pursue professional development in the domain of recent therapies based on full awareness, acceptance and engagement. These methods favour management of dysfunctional emotions through observation and acceptance of personal experiences.
Clients must therefore be aware of these dynamics and engage in a process of cognitive and behavioural change while letting go of psychological automatisms.
Through full awareness, clients learn to recognize their feelings, emotions, thoughts, and tendencies to react as transient phenomena and accept them as such present time instead of reacting.
