Joost reviews. Staff was a bit very slow at times in serving beverages. Because of booking through booking dot com I had tonpay additional fee at departure. It was even more than announced by booking. Something somewhere went wrong. I will not use booking com again for The Gambia. Kamila reviews. Would I return? Yes, with my work-around the issues. I liked the location close to the Atlantic ocean and still in a walking distance from the town, the spacious room, the very comfortable bed - not too soft and not too hard, the balcony with the ocean breeze, the beautiful garden, the spa offering all kind of treatments I had a relaxing massage the day after arrival and it was great , the supportive staff.
A cat came to my balcony one night and kept me company for about 5 days until I was leaving, it was lovely, I miss her. I did not like the constant play of music in the pool area during the day - rather disturbing like some of the evening live music events, too noisy and not pleasant to the ear.
I got upset shortly upon arrival - tired after a long journey, happy I put my stuff where I wanted it to be, I was asked to move to another room since the block was going to be closed for maintenance. Why I got a room to be closed? Bad communication? Such things should not happen. I spent 4 hours moving my things to a new room I chose after a prolonged selection since I wanted to get the best from the unpleasant surprise, at least a nice view and a distance from the pool noise.
The WiFi was hopeless. I tried to e-sign a document all evening without success. Fortunately, the organisation I worked with during my stay, lent me a portable device and my problem was solved - I have to stay connected during business trips. The shower unit was leaking, flooding the bathroom floor - upon my repeated pleas to the receptionists, the plumber always "fixed" something else and the problem remained until the end of my stay.
