Complex and layered, this wine opens with aromas of blackcurrant, fresh earth, graphite and dark cocoa. On the palate, there is a wash of opulent and lingering tannin with notes of dark fruit, wet stone, and a touch of iron.
Perched feet above the valley floor, Howell Mountain is well above the fog line where vineyards are drenched in sunlight from daybreak to sunset. Rocky, volcanic soils result in small berries and intense wines.
