A brand-new bar has opened on the second floor of the Palihotel in Union Square, with some recognizable San Francisco hospitality vets involved. Meanwhile, Larry Piaskowy of Rich Table and True Laurel will head up the cocktail menu, with Andrew Pettingell of Otium and Osteria Mozza leading the wine menu with low-intervention wines from the coast.
Chef Felix Santos, who previously worked at Quince , Sorrel , and Atelier Crenn , will jump in to lead the adjacent restaurant space Maritime Boat Club, opening in the spring. That space will feature a seasonal menu that also centers seafood with local produce. Current owner Aldo Blasi has run the restaurant since , and he will retire after 35 years in the biz.
